“This has been the worst wildfire season I have ever witnessed—July just started and already hundreds of families have lost their homes and everything or have been worried sick about the possibility of it. We’ve always said we’re’ ‘locally owned, locally operated, locally involved,’ so we felt like it was our responsibility to get involved in responding to our community’s current great need” said Whitney Medved, Digital and Networking Director at Medved Autoplex.
So far the High Park Fire in Fort Collins CO, and the Waldo Fire in Colorado Springs—as well as many others across the Front Range and entire state—have consumed thousands of acres and destroyed hundreds of structures. Temperatures hanging in the triple digits, high winds, and a sever lack of rain have only worsened the situation. State-wide fire bans have been in place for some-time, and most if not all 4th of July fireworks shows have preemptively been canceled.
Those wishing to participate in Medved Autoplex’s Red Cross donation match program need not be previous Medved customers. Anyone is welcome to make donations. Simply visit: http://american.redcross.org/
Funds donated through this site enable supplies, logistics and trained volunteers to be in place when disaster strikes. Donation will help people affected by the Colorado Wildfires as well as help the Red Cross ensure that they are ready to immediately respond to the next disaster. Medved will match total donations up to $10,000. “Together we can raise up to $20,000; let’s make it happen!” Said Medved.
