InternSaturday- Career guidance and networking student event. Speeches by Anu Aga & Ramachandran

July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- InternSaturday, a first of its kind event for pre final year students to help them make informed career choices and network with corporate professionals was organized by Internshala this Saturday. The event saw a crowd of over 250 students from various educational backgrounds from all over India including all the IITs, several NITs, Symbiosis, Lady Shri Ram College flocking to National Science Centre, New Delhi on Saturday morning to attend the various panel discussions and workshops arranged for the day.
Starting off with an inspirational note by Mrs. Anu Aga (ex- chairperson of Thermax Ltd., current chairperson of Teach for India, Rajya Sabha nominee, Padma Shri awardee - 2010) on ‘Invisible India’, the event went on to see various panel discussions on ‘Technology and Entrepreneurship’ , ‘Finance and Banking’, ‘Higher Education Abroad’ and ‘Government and Social Sector’. On a lighter note, a soft skills workshop was held to help students with corporate etiquette and interview tips, along with a QuizWorks Brand Quiz. Concluding the event was an inspirational speech by Mr. TR Ramachandran, CEO&MD of Aviva Life Insurance on ‘What it takes to be a successful leader?’ which was well applauded by all the students.
The panel discussions with speakers from various backgrounds and expertise on different fields helped the students gain perspective on the different career options. With students raising several questions to the panelists, the event turned out to be a boon for all confused interns in Delhi. The panels saw participation from organizations such as DAAD, US India Education Foundation and Education New Zealand (Higher Education Abroad), Flick2Know, InMobi and Indian Angel Network (Technology and Entrepreneurship), Aviva Life Insurance, Policybazaar, Nomura (Finance and Banking), TRAI, Teach for India and Centre for Civil Society (Government and Social sector panel).
With the success of its first on ground event - InternSaturday in Delhi, Internshala plans to expand the event to a national scale and plan to conduct it at multiple places around India next year.
