East Coast Dogs Got Nothing On West Coast Ice Cream

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 3, 2012 - This 4th of July, the East Coast will be all about hot dogs as Nathan’s Famous will be holding their annual International Hot Dog Eating Contest championship event. But here in Southern California, qualifying for Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlors® 3rd Annual Splendiferously Superiffic Summer Spectacular Ice Cream Eating Challenge continues. Unlike the hot dog contest, Farrell’s event is open to everyone, from the amateur to the professional. With 6 categories for multiple ages, everyone in the family can participate. Qualifying is going on now through July 8 at Farrell’s in Brea, Rancho Cucamonga, Mission Viejo and Santa Clarita during normal business operating hours.

100% of the proceeds from the qualifying fee benefits CHOC Children’s® (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) and Make-A-Wish®. In addition to the qualifying ice cream, participants receive a limited edition Farrell’s event t-shirt and $5 towards their next Farrell’s visit.

The top 8 qualifiers from each category will move on to compete head-to-head on July 15 in Downtown Brea at Farrell’s Ice Cream Eating Championships. The event is a day-long family festival with carnival rides, games, giveaways and, of course, ice cream.
