New Book Offers Path to Deeper Relationship with God

Whether readers already have a relationship with God, or they are wondering how to begin one, Doranda Jacques’ new book “Five Steps to Draw Closer to God” offers guidance for moving toward a greater and lasting union with the Creator

July 2, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY Month Date, 2012—Whether one is a Christian, a believer of another faith, or skeptical about God’s existence, everyone has questions about God and his or her own purpose in life. Now Doranda Jacques offers a way to find the answers in her new book “Five Steps to Draw Closer to God” (ISBN 9781453816189, CreateSpace, 2012).

Many believe that God is far from them, but according to Doranda Jacques, that is so far from the truth. She knows God is always with us, seeing our pain and suffering, and willing to help us if we will only let Him by taking the first step to draw closer to Him. Jacques, a born-again Christian, knows the difficulty and the joy in taking that first step. In “Five Steps to Draw Closer to God,” she offers her personal stories of her relationship with God to illustrate the five-step path she has found that leads to a meaningful relationship with the Creator.

The Five Steps that Jacques offers are: Seeking God First, Trusting God, Making a Commitment, Prayer, and Love. Each step has a chapter devoted to it. In addition, the book includes Chapter Key Points, a bonus chapter on A Period of Testing, a Checklist, Scriptures to meditate on, a Prayer at the end of each chapter, and a Personal Journal.

Jacques reminds readers that relationships are a two-way street; we cannot expect God to do everything; we must participate in that relationship as well. She states, “No relationship can be built without trust and making a commitment. Prayer opens the lines of communication with God, and love ties everything in to make it work.” Jacques explains that God is waiting with open arms to receive anyone willing to be drawn closer to Him. Jacques’ personal testimony and examples reveal how taking the five steps will result in a relationship that leaves people happier, more joyful, and more in alignment with their purposes in life.

Richard Blake of Reader Views states that “Five Steps to Draw Closer to God” offers “a concise, yet comprehensive plan leading to a deeper relationship with God which can be adapted for inclusion with any existing plan of devotional reading or Bible Study.” Amazon reviewers are equally in agreement about the book’s spiritual value. One reviewer declares, “This book is perfect for the new believer and the mature Christian.” Another reviewer says, “I am not a Christian but I am always interested in learning about other faiths and religions...the basic steps the author provided would be helpful to anyone of any religion.” Straightforward, honest, and heartfelt, “Five Steps to Draw Closer to God” can help draw readers into the most important relationship of their lives.
