Taste the Advantage of the Signature Room's Charity of the Month Program

July 2, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, Ill. – Throughout the month of July, A Silver Lining Foundation is the commendable non-profit that will benefit from The Signature Room’s year-long Charity of the Month program. Each month, The Signature Room at the 95th features one charity that receives 10 percent of sales generated from the Signature Menu in the main dining room. Since the inception of the Charity of the Month program in 1993 by The Signature Room owners, Rick Roman and Nick Pyknis, over 200 organizations have benefited and over $1 million have been donated.

A Silver Lining Foundation’s mission is to ensure dignified, respectful, and equal access to quality cancer education and services for all, by creating meaningful partnerships with community, advocacy and healthcare organizations. The Signature Menu in July offers delicious options for every course in addition to a specialty cocktail. Take in the sights and sip on a Cherub’s Cup, a delicious blend of St. Germain, Belvedere vodka, champagne and strawberries. Starters range from grilled spot prawns with jalapeños and squash salad with mango purée; chilled English pea soup with truffle mascarpone; or a baby spinach salad with sunflower crusted goat cheese, citrus fruit and yogurt dressing. Mouthwatering summer entrées include seared barramundi with tarragon roasted fingerling potatoes, cauliflower and Fresno chili puree or grilled Waygu beef with king trumpet mushrooms and a cherry hibiscus demi-glaze. The Signature Menu's July dessert is a cherry clafoutis served with pistachio ice cream, fresh fruit and garnished with crushed pistachios.

Mission statements of all Charity of the Month non-profits are posted on the restaurant’s website along with full details regarding the application and review process. All beneficiaries are chosen during an annual application review.
