The film Breaking Surface (http://www.breakingsurfacethemovie.com) is about simple life and ordinary people; an old man living with his relationship mistakes of the past, forms an unlikely friendship with a young girl on the edge of ruining her life. Mathilde, a troubled teenager, meets Mr. Bertaud, a 70 year old man who lives in the past while waiting patiently as the last years of his life approach. This random association serves to transform both of their lives. An uncommon friendship between two generations that are more likely to be at odds with one another, serves to transform their lives. A chance meeting that will change their lives forever. The characters help each other discover that they do not control their own destinies and that love and friendship can exist on many levels. A touching story which proves that two unlikely friends touch each other's life at the most unlikely of times without ever realizing the extent our actions or words have upon the other person.
Filming is expected to begin in October 2012 with a planned release in the Spring of 2013. Current Kickstarter and other fundraising efforts are underway and will continue to August 10, 2012.
