The conference is slated to include new member trainings, issue discussion, networking opportunities and a variety of panels that will focus around youth involvement – the central theme being the upcoming presidential elections and the important role the youth vote will play.
“Attending conferences like this gives us a fantastic opportunity to connect with emerging young leaders from all over the country,” said Swibinski, who in addition to managing clients heads up the firm’s online and social networking presence. “YDA’s mission of empowering the nation’s youth to help the Democratic Party succeed is a worthy goal that we’re proud to support.”
As Vision Media Marketing’s primary online media strategists, Swibinski and Makarski will also have an opportunity to learn more about digital strategy in communications and political campaigns. They plan to share their experiences at the conference on Twitter using the hashtag #YDA2012.
Makarski, who recently completed the New Leaders Council fellowship program and has been active with several progressive organizations and conferences, said “It is integral to the success of energizing and maximizing youth participating that we not only converse and organize through social media and online communities but also in person, and this conference provides us a medium to do so.”
