Supreme Court Decision a First Step Toward True Universal Care

June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Georganne Chapin, President & Chief Executive Officer of Hudson Health Plan, issued the following statement today regarding the recent Supreme Court decision on Florida v. Department of Health and Human Services, and how it relates to New York State's Medicaid managed care program and health care reform nationwide:

"Today's Supreme Court's decision should settle the question once and for all that this first step toward universal coverage is without question constitutionally sound. We will be a strong voice for Medicaid managed care in New York, and we remain committed to making it more inclusive and easier to access for those in need. That's because when all is said and done, there will still be too many people without insurance, even under the Affordable Care Act. We must continue to push for a single-payer system to provide health care for all."
