Thielsch Engineering, Inc. Awarded 750K Contract with Grand River Dam Authority

June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- The “turnkey” project is scheduled to start in September, 2012 and will consist of Nondestructive Examination (NDE), Flow Accelerated Corrosion Testing (FAC), and assessment of the High Energy Piping Systems at GRDA’s Coal-Fired Complex.

GRDA’s Coal-Fired Complex was built in 1986 and produces approximately 70% of all electricity needed by GRDA customers. This magnificent facility has consistently ranked among the most efficient and reliable electric generating plants in the nation. GRDA operates three hydroelectric facilities, and manages two lakes, along the Grand River system. These facilities, along with the GRDA Coal-Fired Complex (thermal generation), combine for a total generation capability of 1,480 MW.
