E-book readers top travel tech most wanted list

June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- E-book readers are set to have a summer sales boost according to research conducted by shopping site VoucherCodes.co.uk, with almost a third (31 per cent) of holidaymakers planning to buy a device to take away with them.

With the lightest model, the Flex ONE, weighing in at just 110 grams, E-book readers are proving increasingly popular with travellers faced with the restrictive baggage limits imposed by budget airlines.  

Ownership has risen from 13 per cent in January 2011* to 21 per cent today, helped by the variety of models and competitive pricing between retailers.  

Duncan Jennings, co-founder of VoucherCodes.co.uk says: “E-book readers have cemented their position as the must-have piece of travel tech for the summer.  Thanks to more and more high street retailers stocking the devices, we’ve seen prices becoming increasingly competitive.  Pricing differs by as much as a third between the cheapest and most expensive models, putting even the more advanced E-book readers well within the purchasing power of most travellers.”
