It attracts over three lakhs visitors during a season. The park is a dry evergreen scrub and thorn forest with several varieties of flora and exotic plants as well. The park boasts of over 24 varieties of trees, for example, Amona Squamosa, Atlanta Monoplylla, Feronia Limonia, Azadirachta India, etc. Black buck, chital, jackal, pangolin, elephant, spotted dear, jungle cat, toddy cat and Indian civet are the major wildlife found here. The park is also a home to various birds such as black winged kite, honey buzzard and pariah kite. A snake park housed within this park has various snakes, crocodiles and turtles. The park is an oasis of idyllic green dotted with glittering pools that is aretreat for the animals and animal lovers both.

Anna Zoological Park

The park houses a wide variety of animals, birds, plants and reptilian species. You can see various species of mammals, aviaries and reptiles here. The zoo can be explored by walking, battery operated cars and cycles. There is also facility of Elephant rides and Lion Safari through vehicles. The animal species inhabiting in this park includes tiger, hyena, Jaguar, lion, wolf, panther, jackal, elephants, sambar, Giraffes, Camels, Barking Deer, Blackbuck, Hog Deer, Baboon, Hanuman Langur and many more. The scenic beauty of the Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary has caught the imagination of many people over the years. The park is a natural habitat of wild animals such as lion tailed macaque, bonnet macaque, Common Langur, Nilgiris Langur, Malabar Giant squirrel and grizzled giant Squirrel. Mudumalai Bird Sanctuary

Mudumalai literally means 'Old Hills' and the sanctuary is quite close to Bandipur. The fauna at this sanctuary includes Elephants, Gaur, Banner, Macaque, Common Langur, Tigers, Leopards, Chital, Panther, Sloth Bear, Python, Barking Deer, Four Horned Antelope, Otter, Crocodiles (Mugger), Giant Flying Squirrel, Sambar, Hyena, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Mouse Deer, Spotted Deer, Jackal, Hare, Porcupine and Mongoose. The birds are also spotted here like Peacock-our National bird, Grey Jungle Fowl, Red Spur Fowl, Grey Partridge Quails, Goggle Eyed Plower, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Large Racket-Tailed Dronge, The Magpie-robin, Spotted Babbler, Small Green Barbet, Green Pigeons, Brown Dove, Bulbuls, Mynahs etc. The vegetation at Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary consists mainly of moist deciduous forests with trees like bamboo, terminalia, grewia, aredesia, abumusum and solanancea, are found in abundance. The ideal time to visit Mudumalai is February to June.
