Day Spas Are Becoming A Growing Phenomenon

June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- It would seem that day spas are suddenly everywhere, that is because they are, over the past few years day spas have emerged in cities, shopping malls, offering a range of treatments created to calm the body and mind and has become a fast growing market.

Day spas have taken a large role in peoples’ lives simply because people are more stressed out than ever before and are continually looking for convenient ways to relax without traveling to the end of the world in search of peace and tranquillity; they reinvent the way people deal with this stress by offering more affordable spa services.

Spas have traditionally been places that people go to experience healing or their health-related treatments associated with hot or mineral springs, in fact the word ‘spa’ is derived from the Latin ‘sanus per agua’ meaning health by or through water.

Over the past 20 years spas and spa towns have reinvented themselves as destinations for people wanting luxury and pampering, rather than cures for medical complaints.  It was not until towards the end of the twentieth century that interest in health linked to recreation was commercially viable again in the UK, and there was massive investment by commercial companies in mineral waters, health ‘farms’ residential centres, health clubs, saunas and gyms.

Luxury and pampering, key words when it comes to spas, and big cities like London have invested to give the public what they want, furthermore many hotels now have spas incorporated somewhere within their hotels, there are now many spas in London and major cities of the world.

Despite the economic downturn the market for spas does not yet appear to be saturated, furthermore research shows a strong need for people of both sexes to take time out to escape the demands of a stressful life, and these spas are definitely meeting this demand, it is clear that spar breaks London, or any major city in the world appears to be an almost recession-proof business.

Working in big cities can be a very stressful experience, the hustle, bustle of a busy working day and the fact that many spa users visit after work illustrates the importance of the market, and spas London are certainly recognising this fact and developing this facility.

Surveys show the pattern of many trends, not only London spas but other big cities are showing that many hotels with existing traditional health clubs are considering converting them into spas, and this may well become the point of difference over budget hotels, where maybe a three star spa hotel will compete successfully with a good quality hotel.

A spokesman for Dolphin Square Spa in the heart of Westminster said “our Spa London is indeed luxury and pampering, we guarantee you will feel a million dollars when you walk out of our spa rooms, we combine your choice of ritual with a Hammam to cleanse and exfoliate the skin leaving it hydrated and soft, a Rhassoul to draw out toxins and impurities or Salt Infused Steam to benefit respiratory conditions and soothe weary aching bodies, of course there are many treatments to choose from”.

Any business success is borne out of the delivery of service, of course facilities are important but it comes down to interaction with customers combined with experiences and products that will win the day.
