Cuts for a Cause Comes To Westchester County

June 28, 2012 - PRLog -- If you’ve been thinking about donating your hair, Tuesday, August 7, is Donate Your Hair Day.

The sponsor, RecycledWig.org, Westchester’s leading Internet supplier of hair tools, products and supplies, has invited all hair salons in Westchester to participate.

“Cuts for a Cause is different to other hair donation days because the client can choose where they donate their hair,” said Peter Johnson, president of RecycledWig.org. “There are many good charities that accept hair, each with
their own advantages.”
       
Wigs for Kids needs 12 inches of hair, Locks of Love requires 10, while Pantene Beautiful Lengths wants only 8. Locks of Love accepts colored hair, Pantene Beautiful Lengths takes hair treated with semi-permanent color, while Wigs for
Kids takes only virgin hair.

“Several Westchester salons have already indicated interest: The Salon at Westchester in Scarsdale has already signed up for the program,” said Johnson.

“We signed up for Cuts for a Cause because it’s different to other hair donation days,” said Michele Errico, creative director at The Salon. “We love this project because it’s flexible--as every organization has it's own requirements. By linking to all the charities, we will collect the most hair and ensure that more children with cancer are helped.”
