If owners happen to run out of electricity on the road, it’s no problem, though, because the Volt’s high-efficiency gas-powered engine/generator takes over to allow another 344 miles of range. Taking advantage of both propulsion systems, the typical Volt driver covers an average of 900 miles between visits to the gas station.

This shows that you don’t have to change your daily driving habits to drive the Volt.”
