These five scams include: equity stripping, land banking, equity flipping, foreclosure scams, and Ponzi scams. Gamany then provides some saving grace tips on how investors can help diminish the level of risk to which they’re exposed.
“Any investor can find him or herself the victim of a scam,” says Gamany, “but often it’s those who don’t have much real estate investing experience. I always try to emphasize to any investor the importance of education, informed decisions, and working with people who really know the industry inside and out, who will keep the investor’s best interest as central focus.”
