Florida's Only Hispanic Insurance Association to hold Convention July 10 - 14 in Doral

June 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Over 1,100 insurance industry leaders from across Florida will descend upon Doral from July 10th to July 14th for the 42nd Annual LAAIA Convention and Trade Show conducted by the Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies.  LAAIA is Florida’s only Hispanic insurance organization and has championed many reforms and regulations to better protect and serve the public.  They are one of industries most vocal proponents for stronger penalties for those convicted of insurance fraud, which can add as much as 30% to every policy holder’s annual premium.

Major speakers at the convention include:

Miami-Dade State Attorney Kathy Fernandez-Rundle who will address the “Associations Luncheon” on Friday, July 13th about insurance fraud and the effect of new auto insurance regulations.

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez will be the Gala Dinner Keynote Speaker on Saturday, July 14th and will discuss his efforts to date at County Hall as well as the impact of the changing insurance environment on the County and its citizens.

Insurance Consumer Advocate Robin Smith Westcott will make a special presentation at the Gala Dinner on Saturday, July 14th providing a look at her
office’s accomplishments and its direction for the future.

The convention will conclude with the installation of the LAAIA 2012–2013 Board of Directors under the leadership of incoming president Tony Martely of Miami-Dade based insurance agency Global Risk, LLC.
