Jun. 28, 2012 - Refined Hardwood Flooring (Wilmington, NC) has been awarded the 2012 NWFA community service award. It can be difficult to find a way to thank those who serve our country, but Refined Hardwood found that they could use their trade to show their gratitude. After donating a hardwood floor to a wounded combat veteran with severe mobility issues, the National Wood Flooring Association saw it fit to recognize Refined Hardwood for their commitment and dedication to their community. "It's just what we do", says David Allen, co-owner of Refined Hardwood. "We are not a huge company, however, we do what we can when we are needed. This project has become something that we hold near and dear to our hearts. These veterans make it possible for all of us to live our lives day to day. It is our hope that other contractors will step up and do the right thing."
The NWFA community service award is awarded to companies that go above and beyond the call of duty. Refined Hardwood Flooring was 1 of only 12 companies nation wide that received the award for 2012.
