June 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Picture the amazement when Scott D. Gussin, owner of PickersPalace.com, received a call from someone claiming to have items from the historic Cedar Tavern which was located in New York City.   The location was known for being the "hang out" of some of the most notable and prominent artists, musicians, and writers of the 1950's and 1960's, leaving their mark figuratively and literally at this location.  This was the location that Modernistic and Abstract art movement began with artists such as Klien, Miller, Salinger, Ginsberg, De Kooning, Guston, and others.  It is a location that musicians such as Bob Dylan got inspiration.

A piece of history found, long nestled safely in the back of a dusty barn, about two and a half hours from the city, laid the hand hewn, carved, autographed, beams from the legendary Cedar Tavern.  All six columns intact and well preserved, possibly by all the spilled highballs of those beatnik artists who left there mark for us to find.  Also found was the large 8 foot by 5 foot gargoyle framed mirror, the National cash register, two booth benches, and a iron light fixture. The doors closed in 2006 and all the artifacts were thought to be destroyed or sold to private collectors, either way lost to the public for good.  “The history is well documented, and the provenance of these treasures is undisputed” said Gussin.

PickersPalace.com will auction these memorable and cherished pieces of Americana on July 2nd, 2012 at 4:30 pm eastern standard time.  Interested bidders are encouraged to register with the site early in order to be pre-qualified prior to July 1st, 2012.  Previews can be scheduled by calling 1(800)839-3890 and making an appointment.

If you would like further information you can contact Scott D. Gussin at 1(800)839-3890 extension 1, or Niki Fade at extension 2.  You can also email Scott or Niki at admin@pickerspalace.com
