EPUAP Conference 2012 - Invacare to launch a new product

June 28, 2012 - PRLog -- The need to reduce mechanical abrasions and damage to mattress covers is highly evident from the results obtained through equipment audits. These results have shown Clinicians and Industry need to work together to help reduce replacement costs for the NHS.

Collaborative education

In response to this, Invacare has listened to customers and developed a collaborative approach to education to create awareness on the care of mattresses.

Research and Development

During this time, Invacare has also been undertaking material research with an aim to significantly reduce mattress failures and increase the return on investment of pressure reducing equipment.

New Material Technology

The research resulted in the development of a new cover fabric, developed alongside a leading material manufacturer. It has been on trial in a number of NHS trusts for the past year and has shown excellent performance.

Be the first to see our new mattress cover technology by visiting us at the forthcoming EPUAP Conference in Cardiff, 19th-21st September 2012. Invacare will also be holding a symposium at the conference (11am on Friday 21st September) and will demonstrate the science behind the fabric, our education programme and the results obtained from the recent trials.
