The Scheme is available to customers purchasing works of art with values of between £100 and £2,000. Payments may either be spread over the 10 month repayment period as equal instalments, or a bulk amount may be paid up front with the rest split out evenly over the 10 months.
So for example, a customer using an Own Art Loan to purchase work worth £300, can pay 10 monthly instalments of £30. Or he or she could make a down payment of £100, and then pay £20 per month for the 10 month repayment period.
The Arts Council Own Art Loan is eligible for any purchase made on the Art2Arts site – whether that’s an existing work or a work commissioned by the buyer.
Art2Arts sells only high quality original art, each piece of which is personally vetted before going on sale. The customer can commission artworks for a 50% deposit. Commissioned work will be carried out by the artist of choice to a brief as tight or vague as the customer desires. So the loan may be used to pay for a painting done from a family photograph – or equally for a commission done by a favourite artist, with simply the instruction to paint something red!

The loan is interest free and is brokered by Art2Arts under license from the Arts Council England. Loans are awarded subject to status and, of course, terms and conditions will apply.
