Their Search and Rescue program works with rescues and shelters looking for dogs with certain temperaments and personality traits that may be candidates for Search and Rescue work. Once identified these The Fetch Foundation evaluates these dogs and trains them for the demanding job of rescue worker. They also have a Military Veterans Companion Program that finds and evaluates canine candidates that would assist veterans to overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, provide companionship or in some cases assist with certain tasks needed on a day to day basis.
The Fetch Foundation also provides FIDO BAGs to area Fire Departments and First Responders. These BAGs contain a specialized breathing apparatus that is formed to fit any pet’s muzzle. The specialized cone-shaped oxygen mask allows for a secure seal on the pet’s face giving them the breath of life. Specialized burn sheets, bandages, rinsing saline and protective restraints are also in The FIDO BAG.
