Follow on Google News | McAward Productions Teams Up With Kickstarter To Preserve Native American CultureMcAward Productions has started a fund raising campaign to complete production of a documentary, entitled Vanishing Culture, on the native inhabitants of Alaska.
By: McAward Productions, Inc. “Even though we just started shooting this project last September, you could almost say that it’s been 15,000 years in the making based on when these Natives first ventured in to what is now known as Alaska. We just finished editing our trailer and we have it posted on our web site,” stated McAward. Vanishing Culture will not only educate but also celebrate the history and various cultures of the Native peoples of Alaska. This amazing story will be told in 4 chapters; History, Art & Culture, Music & Dance and The Potlatch. Alaska Native languages, centuries' old customs and their way of life have been eroding for over a hundred years, fortunately in recent years there has been a concerted effort by some to restore these lost treasures. Vanishing Culture will aid in this effort by documenting and educating the viewers about this important component of our history. “The only way these Natives will be able to share their stories with the world is if we are successful in our fund raising campaign and we hope that Kickstarter helps us achieve that goal,” said Linda McAward, Producer.
