Propst is a graduate of Appalachian State University and The American College. He lives in North Raleigh with his wife Carla and daughter Kayla. Among several commitments to the financial services industry and the Greater Raleigh community, he is a member of The Gideons International, a mentor at Future for Kids, and a member of Bay Leaf Baptist Church where he serves as a youth coach.
