"Keepers of the Planet" is supported by the restriction of uncontrolled fishing

June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- "Keepers of the Planet" sent a letter to the State Duma, supports the initiative of the Duma of the Astrakhan region to limit the catch of fish.


The letter proposed to determine the "maximum amount of catch of water biological resources in the day for a citizen, carrying out recreational and sport fishing in the water objects of common use." The problem worsened after this year enacted a law that allows water to pass in the lease. In other areas you can fish free. This is used by poachers, because of which the population of sturgeon in the Volga River for 15 years was reduced by 99%.


A member of the organizing committee of the festival Sergey Artemenko stressed the need for such measures: "Unfortunately, water resources dramatically depleted and most people can not estimate the scale of the disaster, because looking at it from the shore. Urgent measures to protect fisheries resources and ecosystem restoration of rivers, seas and oceans.
