June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- “We all hear the horror stories of marriages gone bad, of the heartbreak of gut wrenching divorces and the pain endured by children of broken homes.  We laugh at the videos of soon to be spouses collapsing from stress, nerves and fear during their wedding, yet we still keep running towards the altar to say, I Do. Why?” author Adrian Marchisio asks.

While searching for an answer, Marchisio looked for books that dealt with the topic of marriage, but was shocked to find that not many existed.  The few he found were merely politically correct, cheerleader type books whose message was that marriage is tough, but if you stay positive and work hard at it, maybe you won’t end up in divorce. “Nonsense”, Marchisio thought.  He did however find mountains of books that dealt with planning the wedding day with such meticulous detail that would put some space flight manuals to shame.  According to Marchisio, these types of books did a great job selling the fantasy and glamour of the wedding day without regard to the days and years that lay ahead.  That’s when he picked up a pen and began writing, “Till Death We Do Us Apart”.

This book gives those blindly charging into the institution of marriage some much needed modern, realistic, honest and emotionally unattached insight.  A humorous, lighthearted yet powerful book that tears back the warm, pink and rosy veil encompassing the traditional notions of marriage and introduces a vivid level of awareness to help differentiate reality from fantasy.  Supported by full page quotes from people throughout history such as Will Rogers, Goethe, Voltaire, Alan King and others, along with thought provoking illustrations, the book challenges the outdated and traditional belief that marriage is necessary and that it is the “next step” in a relationship.  It also offers a real, modern, emotionally, physically and financially safe alternative to marriage that even includes having children, if so desired.

The book is an easy read that serves as brakes on the runaway wagon of love and gives those contemplating marriage an opportunity to carefully evaluate their decision to marry and understand the effects being married will have on their lives, before they utter those life changing words, “I Do”.

Marchisio is neither a psychologist nor a marriage counselor.  In fact, he fancies himself as a marriage “anti-counselor.” Having witnessed marriage after marriage fail and the resulting devastation left behind, he penned this book to help those blinded by love and fantasy based thoughts.
