Largest Boat Show On Gulf Coast Changes Port

The Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show announced today that it will move from Orange Beach, Alabama to Gulfport, Mississippi. The largest of it's kind on the gulf coast , it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 3 years and needs a larger facility.

June 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Attracting over 20,000 in attendance in 2012, it featured some of the top names in the fishing community as well as a special appearance by Trapper Joe and Trigger Tommie from the hit TV show Swamp People. Over 150 exhibitors featured over 500 boats, both on land and in the water, making the show the largest of its kind on the Gulf.  It was evident to all that attended, the show had to be moved to accommodate future growth...But where do you move the largest boat show on the Gulf...

To one of the largest marina facilities on the Gulf.

Jones Park, in Gulfport, Mississippi has just completed a 40 million dollar renovation into a complete entertainment complex.  After being completely destroyed by hurricane Katrina, Jones Park now boasts over  500 fully equipped marina slips, 2 amphitheaters, and a state of the art 26,000 square foot open air pavilion.  Its proximity to interstate 10, airports, casinos, and major markets make this an easy move for the Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show.   Show officials searched the entire upper gulf coast for a facility that could both house the current show needs and future growth.  Jones Park was the only choice for this move.

Casino lodging packages, downtown street parties, trolly service, in water demonstrations. ample parking, and the ability to showcase yachts over 90' long will highlight upcoming shows.  The facility will also ensure that the Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show will never again have to move because of growing pains.

Timing for this change is perfect, as Gulfport is in the process of redeveloping it's downtown area with new shops, bars, and restaurants.  Show officials admit that a change of this magnitude is difficult, but have been reassured by exhibitors this decision will further the success of the event.

Already a testament to the success of this change are the new partnerships coming from casinos, banks, and beverage companies.  Show officials have stated that because of these new sponsorships they will be able to spend over $150,000 in direct media buys.  These buys will span from New Orleans East to Orange Beach and North to Birmingham, making this a true regional event!

Boat Dealers and Brokerage Companies from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida have bought almost all of the land space and over 200 in water displays have been reserved.  Everything from 16 foot skiffs to yachts over 80 feet in length.  A special sail boat row will also be on display with over 30 new and used sail boats,  Making this show the largest of its kind on the Gulf of Mexico.

Special features for this years show will include a live shark encounter, celebrity appearances by Captain Bret Mcbride from "Shark Wranglers",  Paul Bedard from "Gator Boys, and daily seminars covering the entire Gulf Coast,  Florida Keys and Bahamas, as well as a Discover Sailing.

Set for April 4-7 in 2013, the Gulfcoast yacht and Boat Show is sure to be a can't miss for boating enthusiast from everywhere!
