The newest online talent discovery platform provides artists a free online space to promote their work and connect with their fans to earn the chance to get in front of high profile industry leaders that could potentially launch their career. Entering the monthly contest is a great way to gain the exposure that every unsigned artist craves.
This month’s contests fall under the following categories:
Dance Mogul Magazine Contest
Dancers can upload a video of their dance performance and campaign for votes on their profile. The dancer with the most votes will be featured in the Dance Mogul Magazine blog and in the magazine quarterly. Entries must receive a minimum of 150 votes to qualify.
Spoken Word Contest
Spoken word artists can submit a 1-3 minute video based on the theme, “What would the world look like if you ruled it?” At the beginning of the video, the artist must state that they are entering the Access4Artists June 2012 Spoken Word Contest. Artists may upload their video to their a4a profile or link to a YouTube or Vimeo video. The Access4Artists team will validate your contest entry form and add you to the list of entrants and the artists will be notified once they have been added. The first place winner will receive $500 and be featured on the a4a blog.
Models in the Detroit area that have received a minimum of 100 votes on their profile during the month of June are eligible to win a 1-2 hour photo shoot with Taylor Made Video Vision and 6-12 edited photos for their portfolio, as well as being featured on the Access4Artists blog.
Access4Artists invites its members to submit their cover of Usher’s “Scream.” The highest number of votes will win the first place prize of $500 and will be featured on the a4a blog. Artists need a minimum of 150 votes to qualify and must state at the beginning of the video that the submission is intended for the June 2012 Cover contest. Artists may sing over the original soundtrack and must re-create the song in their own way. Videos may be uploaded to an Access4Artists profile through the a4a server or by linking a YouTube or Vimeo video.
All Artists Contest
This contest is open to all artists and is determined by the number of votes an artist receives on their profile during the month of June. An artist must have a minimum of 150 to qualify.
Artists have the chance to sponsor a new or existing Indiegogo campaign of their choice. Indiegogo provides a platform for people who want to raise money for a cause to tell their story and raise awareness. Artists will invite their friends to vote for their cause or back their idea. The artist with the most votes will be awarded $500 toward their campaign, a blog interview and inclusion in a4a press.
All contests require the completion of an online entry form that can be found on the Access4Artists website, www.access4artists.com/
“Access4Artists is about giving artists an opportunity to be discovered,”
Contests will run on a month-to-month basis, allowing artists in each of the 11 talent categories the opportunity to have their craft showcased for the world to see. Access4Artists also features contests for their fans, offering prizes such as $100 Visa gift cards and a 16gb Apple iPad that were awarded in April.
“The site is designed around our artists, but the fans are equally important,” said Moy. “They are the ones who decide who gets noticed and have the voting power.”
Artists and fans can learn more and join the movement for free at Access4Artists.com.
