PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 24, 2012 - Producer and creator Wally Moran is pleased to announce that Cuba - Forbidden Paradise, which is billed as 'A Movie...A Book...An Experience!', will not be beholden to any corporate or political sponsorship. Instead, they are going directly to the public for production costs, using the crowdsource funding website, Kickstarter.com. This of course will result in a candid and honest look at the country, its people, its culture and the other aspects of Cuba that the show will investigate.
In return for sponsorship, Cuba - Forbidden Paradise is offering a variety of awards and gifts to donors, ranging from a podcast or screensaver featuring original Cuban images and music, to the opportunity for a cameo appearance - in Cuba- on the show, plus associate producer billing in the credits. Donors can pledge as little as $1 to help support the show.
Cuba - Forbidden Paradise itself is based on the travels of Moran and his crew throughout Cuba, as they explore the coast on Moran's 34 foot sailboat, Gypsy Wind. Moran has twice before sailed the coast of Cuba, and this trip will complete a circumnavigation of the island.
Cuba - Forbidden Paradise is being filmed by well known producer and camerman Jeffrey Cox, who produced America Haunts, and post production is being handled by TheSailingChannel's Tory Salvia, who has produced or distributed films and videos from nearly all of the planet's best known sailors.
