The Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation (CYTO) approached the store asking for gifts or prizes that they could use for their Summer Fayre. The CYTO is holding their Summer Fayre to help raise funds for the theatre. The CYTO is seeking prizes and donations from local businesses like Loretta Cotterell’s to help the theatre raise funds to replace the cash that Croydon Council has withdrawn in light of the recent budget cuts. The theatre has lost funding for their tutor, their administrative staff and for their youth workers. So, they are relying on donations and volunteers for survival.
Loretta was delighted to support the theatre as it helps local youths aged 13 to 25 learn new skills, make friends and build their confidence. Loretta said, “I’m keen to support any local business or play group that helps give young people a sense of purpose and focus. After the riots last year, and the high levels of unemployment among young people, I think it is important that we provide activities for children and young adults to channel their energy”.
The CYTO’s Summer Fayre will be held at their premises on Oakley Road in South Norwood, London, SE25 4XG, on Saturday 3rd July between 11am and 3pm.
