Hot Ironz is a true life story about a young hair stylist named Star. Star put her heart in soul into the vision that was to become her dream. Careful planning and consideration landed her in a Salon where she could fine tune her craft and grow her client list. Based in a salon amidst what she thought were friends, Star share her ideas openly with her co-workers.
A natural tendency to trust allowed her to become victim of her own nature. She was bamboozled by the same co-workers who had only yesterday represented as friend. Star was the only one shocked when her vision was stolen. The very people she trusted with her most prized possession to turned out to be the very people who stole it her. She found herself out in the cold with two options, to give up or start over. Thrust into action, Star was starting over with her own Salon…..Remedy Salon.
To eyes that didn’t know better Remedy Salon was the picture of success, lavish to the eyes but catering to misconception. With her new salon, and her own staff, no one knew the financial bind Star was in. She seemed oblivious to the fact that the math didn’t make sense at the end of every passing day in a salon with 8 chairs and only 3 stylists. It didn’t make sense that Remedy Salon offered waxing, massages, manicures and pedicures but was understaffed so the sign in the window served only as decoration.
A more than casual encounter would prove to be the one thing that Star needed but also the bane of her existence. Tim Johnson strolled into her life and nothing would ever be the same.
Coming from a perspective that was steep in the understanding of a billion dollar business called the Beauty industry, and a basic understanding that the beauty industry had a base and niche in black communities, Tim had a knowledge of the fact that the beauty industry had the potential to be lucrative if the necessary steps were in place to facilitate the process of running a successful business. It was clear to him that from an international level Black Hair Care was a thriving business and everyone was taking advantage of it. Tim’s mission was to do one thing and one thing only……whip Remedy Salon into shape so that it could be a well oiled machine that would allow Star to do more than eat.
Star had hired a less than enthusiastic staff and they were not even the slightest bit interested in fine tuning Remedy Salon, let alone take directions from the likes of a stranger. To them that would be too much like work. They had grown lazy and complacent. Tim took all of this in along with one redeeming fact….It was clear that Star was a star stylist and it would soon become even clearer that Tim Johnson was the remedy for Remedy Salon.
