Pittsburgh in Home Care Giver Earns Top Award

June 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Comfort Keepers - a Pittsburgh senior care company - announced that member Peggy Antosh has received the company's highest honor after being nominated for it earlier this year.  The National Comfort Keepers Caregiver of the Year Award was presented to Antosh and several other national recipients in Dallas last month.  

Comfort Keeper's community liaison Jackie Greenwald described the 7 year company veteran as a powerful and intuitive caregiver;

"When Peggy is introduced to a new client’s home, the relief by the family is palpable.  There is very little that a family has to do to orient Peggy because she already knows exactly what to do and how to do it."  

Other company officials mirrored these sentiments; most notably Mary Donohue, RN - a local Comfort Keepers franchise owner and caregiver.  Donohue attributes some of the success Antosh experiences connecting with seniors to her unique ability to provide just the right blend of care and independence - a practice known as "doing with" as opposed to "doing for" the client.

Antosh has also made a lasting impression on the Pittsburgh area communities she serves and will appear in several upcoming publications, including an article about her in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette later this week and another in the Pittsburgh Senior News in July.

Some of Antosh's notoriety is derived from her unusual ability to connect with even the most resistant senior, including tactics ranging from simple confidence to unabashedly singing old-time songs.
