Requirements to earn the Accredited Valuation Analyst designation include holding a business degree from an accredited institution of higher education, possessing a prerequisite understanding of accounting fundamentals as applied to business valuation theory and practice, and demonstrating substantial prior experience in business valuation. The final step in earning the Accredited Valuation Analyst designation is the successful completion of the Association's comprehensive examination.
To maintain her NACVA Certification as an Accredited Valuation Analyst, Helga Zauner will be required to periodically obtain continuing professional education in areas related to business valuation and/or litigation consulting and participate in programs sponsored by NACVA that promote quality and adherence to industry standards.

In the litigation arena, valuations are often necessary in situations of business disruption, dissenting shareholder actions, divorce, and partner disputes.
