June 22, 2012 - PRLog -- FATZ is hosting a pancake breakfast at the 3011 High Point Road restaurant in Greensboro, NC on July 7, to benefit the youth of local non-profit organization, NC Court Kings. From 7:30 to 10:00 a.m., FATZ will open its doors to members of the community and transform into a hotspot for hotcakes to raise money to support the continued efforts of the NC Court Kings to create a youth sport organization in the Greensboro Triad area increasing both sport participation rates and healthy development of the area's youth.

The funds that are raised through the event will go towards helping to get more young people involved who wish to take part in quality sports activities but are unable to due to lack of financial resources. The organization’s program objectives include basketball fundamentals training, academic preparation, community service, leadership development, life skills training and player education.  According to an Executive Board member, “Placing youth in a learning environment promotes their best efforts and reinforces personal respect as well as a sense of accomplishment”.

Tickets for Short Stacks for Big Change, a pancake breakfast fundraiser, are $8 for adults and $3 for children 6 and under and include pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, maple syrup, butter, coffee, tea, orange juice or milk. To purchase advance tickets contact the NC Court Kings by email at info@nccourtkings.com or visit their website for more information www.nccourtkings.org.

There are 500 tickets to be sold in order for the youth group to reach their financial goal. Walk in customers will be welcomed the day of the event and there will also be To Go plates available. Several raffles and prize drawings will be held during the event as well.

All attendees are encouraged to bring a donation to fuel FATZ fund-raising efforts for the NC Court Kings. FATZ introduced the idea of Short Stacks for Big Change in 2009 with the specific purpose of making a difference and helping the local community grow where every restaurant is located. Since its inception, FATZ has raised more than $1,000,000 for charities and community organizations.

FATZ opens daily at 11 a.m. serving lunch and dinner to regulars, but on Saturdays, FATZ staff volunteer alongside members of the community to raise money for organizations ranging from local schools to The United Way.
