IT’S A BREEZE TO GET WINNING CHEDDAR
Where You Can Find Cook’s Illustrated’s Favorite Artisanal Cheddar

Maybe you’ve heard: Cook’s Illustrated just named Milton Creamery’s Prairie Breeze as the nation’s best artisanal cheddar.  Demand for Prairie Breeze was high before the announcement. The award-winning cheese is produced by a small, family-owned creamery in southern Iowa, so quantities have always been limited. If you can’t find Prairie Breeze in your local store, here are two ways to get your hands on a block:

First, simply visit www.MiltonCreamery.com and order the cheese online.  A few clicks, and Prairie Breeze is on its way to your door!
If that’s just too easy for you, try something a little more adventurous.  Start out by visiting the same website, then click on the link, “Where’s Rufus?”  This will take you to a schedule of all the places Rufus Musser is traveling to share his family’s cheese with the world. His next stop is the new Whole Foods in West Des Moines on July 20, 2012.

There are two big advantages of visiting with Rufus at one of his promotional stops.  First, he’s a really nice guy who knows a lot about cheese! Second, he’ll bring other Milton Creamery cheese with him. While Prairie Breeze is grabbing international acclaim, one shouldn’t ignore varieties such as Prairie Rose or Flory’s Truckle, each crafted with the attention and care for which Musser cheese is known.  If you love cheese, the visit will be worth your while.

Whichever option you choose, it’s best to act quickly.  Orders are already pouring in from Cook’s Illustrated readers, and Prairie Breeze takes up to a year to produce.
