Follow on Google News | Exciting new fantasy novel entitled THE ELEMENTALS by Farai Moyo is publishedThe Elementals is a fictional story surrounding a group of teenagers who need to come to terms with their supernatural connection to the world and the elemental powers that hold it together.
By: Press Office About the Author Farai Moyo is a South African national currently residing in the UK. His main inspiration for writing The Elementals came from watching supernatural films and TV shows and their common depiction of the four horsemen. This led him to think what if the horsemen were not the cause of destruction but were essential to the balance of the earth. In his writing, Farai tries to do something different, and put a new spin on age-old theories and views. Similarly, his literary inspirations are well-known for their unique approach such as Clive Barker and Stephen King for the horror genre. Farai aims to inspire other authors to write in the same or even a different genre just by reading his novels. Excerpt from the book: “The night always has its own set of rules. At a certain time the sun sets, then after that it gets darker still; until the creatures that crave the night come out to forage for food and a mate. At this level, the night doesn’t seem so bad. It has its own sets of residents, just as the day has, but unfortunately things are not always peaceful. There is bloodshed in the dark, as the hunter tracks down its prey and settles down to eat. There is fear in the dark, as the prey senses something is watching but is not sure when or where the attack will come from. There is pain, as the hunter takes its first bite. Most of all there is death and silence in the dark, where the calls for help are numbed as the heart of the prey slowly stops beating. The scientists call it survival of the fittest, whereas the rest call it cruel."
