Women owned businesses in Utah will become stronger by accomplishing their goals and collectively uniting as René Johnson leads them with the NAWBO SLC theme, “The Power of Collaboration!”
SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Salt Lake Chapter will transform on July 1, 2012 when René Johnson steps into the role of NAWBO/SLC President. Ms. Johnson is known nationally as The Power Zone Coach, a leadership and business building expert. She is also recognized as the author of “Leaving Your Comfort Zone: How to Lead Your Life from the Power Zone”, an inspiring motivational speaker who has appeared before audiences of lawmakers, educators and business leaders as well as the Vice President of SHEROES United, an organization that seeks out women who have overcome tremendous obstacles and, in turn, gone on to improve the lives of women and young girls in their communities and businesses. Ms. Johnson’s theme for her tenure as President is “The Power of Collaboration!”
Ms. Johnson is committed to help each member of NAWBO establish positive, forward-moving objectives in their business and community. Under her leadership, she will enhance the return that members get from their membership by linking member benefits to business success. Ms. Johnson states, “As women, nurturing, networking and building alliances comes naturally. But as women in business, too often we resist asking for and accepting support due to fears we might be seen as lacking strength, confidence or credibility. I intend to break the myth that confident women have all the answers. Rather, a confident woman asks for and accepts support, trusting herself to make the best decisions and knowing there is power in collaboration!”
Ms. Johnson believes in the ripple effect of empowering women. When a woman in business is mentored to greatness, she can in turn promote growth in the team she leads. Families, businesses and communities benefit through this positive impact cycle. NAWBO Salt Lake creates a nurturing environment in a non-competitive atmosphere as members seek to find like-minded individuals with which to network, build support outlets to reduce burnout and improve lifestyle as well as grow successful businesses.
The Salt Lake NAWBO Chapter has the backing of a dedicated national organization with the influence needed to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide. NAWBO’s national mission is:
