The results of the straw-poll revealed that 63.2% of Singaporeans rely on the Internet as their primary source of news, 27.3% on Television, 13.2% on newspapers and (surprisingly)
The main conclusions derived from this straw-poll are (a) social media's key role in communicating news making it an important component of any crisis communications plan; and (b) newspapers (while rated as the most credible platform for news) declining value proposition as a source for news and the need for them to reinvent themselves.
