Brown was instrumental in co-founding the Children’s Grief Connection, a free camp that provides opportunities for children suffering the loss of a parent, sibling or friend. The organization lets children talk through their grief and work towards enjoying childhood again.
“The camp he helped start by riding around the state on horseback has dramatically changed the lives of more than one thousand Minnesota children,” said Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Executive Director Gary Anderson. “It really has made an impact that will last generations.”
Service to the community is a key mission of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association. Through dedication to local families, the organization and its members provide the ultimate service in the time of need.

Along with his service to the community, Brown has been an important contributor to Minnesota Funeral Directors Association publications since 1963. His trilogy of funeral service poems have appeared in publications throughout the country and have been a fixture of the association’
