BATTLE of the BANDS…the battle is coming and you could win!
(Millstone Township, NJ – June 22, 2012) The Millstone Performing Arts Center
(MPAC) will host a “Battle of the Bands” on August 18, 2012 from 7-10 p.m. Ten to 15
bands will compete for a chance to be seen by professional judges who can advance their
career. The first place winner will win $400, plus a performance spot opening for a
MPAC show and a performance during Fright Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure,
Jackson, NJ. The second place winner will win $200 and a performance during Fright
Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ. The 3rd place winner will perform during
Fright Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, N.J.
Steve Trevelise, from Sarcasm Comedy and NJ 101.5 radio personality, will emcee the
event. Judges include Rachel Cohen, Entertainment Director, Monmouth County Fair;
Patricia Stevens, Live & Local Program Founder and Coordinator Six Flags Great
Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey; recording artists Frank Jeckell, originator of the 1910
Fruitgum Company and Mick Mansuetto of the 1910 Fruitgum Company. The group had
a total of eight charted hits, with three gold records and nine albums.
College, High School, and Middle School bands, as well as solo artists and duos are
encouraged to submit their 5 to 10 minute DVD/CD for consideration by JULY 30.
Submit to MPAC, 5 Dawson Court, Millstone Township, NJ 08535, along with the nonrefundable
submission fee of $25, payable to MPAC. Submit your YouTube or other
electronic version to MPAC@millstone.k12.nj.us. The submission fee must be received
at the above address to be considered. Please make sure to reference your band name on
