Glasgow Interactive Lauds The Importance Of Social Media

Glasgow Interactive ask "Are we competing for the best online brand?"

June 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Glasgow Interactive believe that in an increasingly difficult economic climate, the need to compete for revenue has never been more important and vital in order to survive. It is for this reason they believe many businesses are concentrating heavily on ensuring their online brand makes them stand out from the crowd.  Low cost tools such as social media and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) have created a level playing field in which businesses all over the world have the opportunity, and ability, to compete for customers regardless of their comparative size.

Glasgow Interactive discovered that according to a new study published recently by computer giant IBM, in which 1,709 company CEOs from 64 countries were interviewed, the use of social media has had an “immediate impact” on growth. The report also suggests that while social media is the least utilized of all customer interaction methods today, within the next five years it will become the number two engagement method, behind only face-to-face interactions. Gilles Baudet, Managing Director at Glasgow Interactive commented: “Social networking has dramatically changed the way in which businesses operate over the last 5 years. Traditional methods of advertising such as TV, radio & print media are fast becoming obsolete as consumers spend more and more time online.”

As experts in Direct Sales & Marketing, Glasgow Interactive benefit from being able to create relationships with their clients and customers face-to-face, and then utilise social media in order to maintain those relationships long-term. Baudet explained: “Creating a brand online today takes more than just getting your name out there for people to see - people need to like your brand and be able to trust it. Social media allows word of mouth to spread quickly and online reviews and feedback pushes companies to work hard to keep customers happy. This online presence means honest, hard working businesses will be rewarded with loyal customers and therefore long-term success. It’s win-win really.”

Enrique Salem, CEO of the world’s largest security software maker Symantec stated “Social networking has and will continue to significantly change how we do business” and that “the way we collaborate with our customers will be transformed.” Baudet agrees and concluded: “This is exactly why we invest so heavily in people here at Glasgow Interactive. Our personalities define us as a company and in order to be successful long-term and compete in the online marketplace, we need to be at the top of our industry.”
