Xtreme Turf™ Makeover Debuts Synthetic Turf Maintenance Solutions

Full line of premier artificial turf maintenance, rejuvenation and turf removal services launches.

June 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Xtreme Turf Makeover has launched into the market, offering advanced diagnostic testing and three levels of environmentally-friendly synthetic turf maintenance, from decompaction to complete field removal.

Xtreme Turf Makeover can greatly extend the life of an existing synthetic turf field, and is far less costly than a complete replacement. According to the Synthetic Turf Council (STC), more than 7,000 multi-use synthetic turf sports fields are now in use throughout the United States. As the use of artificial turf continues to rise, so does the need for Xtreme Turf Makeover services to return fields to their safety and performance potential. Aging fields may experience compaction, broken fiber, bacteria growth, reduced traction and rotational resistance, all issues which can put athletes at risk for injury.

“The Xtreme Turf Makeover program was developed to meet the industry’s growing need to address current field issues, such as performance and safety. The services will support the efforts of industry consultants, architects, field builders and owners as they strive to keep America’s fields in great condition for  athletes of all ages and all types of activities,” according to Ed Huggins, vice president of Xtreme Turf Makeover.

Xtreme Turf Makeover goes beyond other maintenance companies in the market, offering complete field rejuvenation. They offer three levels of service: 1) Decompaction, deep cleaning and conditioning, 2) infill extraction, separation, cleaning and reinsertion, and 3) turf removal, disposal and site inspection. They are the exclusive providers of Xtreme Cleaning, a patent pending process which extracts the rubber and sand infill from the turf, and removes all dust and debris before returning the infill to the field. Following Xtreme Cleaning, the rubber is as clean as or cleaner than the original infill.

With Xtreme Turf Makeover, there is no waste during the makeover process. The rubber infill and turf are either reused or recycled—nothing goes to the landfill.

The Xtreme Turf Makeover process begins with a thorough diagnostics process, testing the fiber and infill quality, condition of the base, drainage and curbs, g-max and more. G-max represents the shock absorbency on a synthetic turf field, and is a critical indicator of its safety. Over time the value will increase due to compaction and infill loss. The higher the g-max value, the harder the playing surface—and the greater amount of impact absorbed by the athlete’s body.

Xtreme Turf Makeover services result in an improved playing surface, better filtration, lower g-max, a visually improved field appearance, extended life and more.

If a field is determined to be at the end of its life, Xtreme Turf Makeover can extract and clean existing infill, and remove the worn turf with their Level Three service. The old turf is repurposed, and the infill is separated and remains on site for recycling back into the new field.
