There is an estimated 1 in 10 in the U.S. reported suffering from Depression at a severe level according to the CDC. With that figure there is approximately 31 million in the United States suffering. How many aren't reporting?
At the world level the percentages of population can be as high as 20% according to PRB.org. Taking the 10% level of the U.S. would mean that there are 680 million people suffering worldwide. I would put that number much higher because of the unreported, maybe as high as one third to half of the world population.
