Follow on Google News | Medicare Set-Asides Will Be Topic at Workers’ Compensation Educational ConferenceThe relationship between workers’ compensation and Medicare will be discussed at the Workers Compensation Educational Conference in August.
Moderator will be Roy A. Franco, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Franco Signor, LLC in Kenmore, N.Y. Panel members include Gary Nesbit, Director of Risk and Insurance Management at Advance Auto Parts in Roanoke, Va.; and Fred Pachon, Senior Vice President, Risk Management and Insurance for The Select Family of Staffing Companies in Santa Barbara, Calif. The relationship between workers’ compensation and Medicare has become increasingly intertwined and complex. All parties in a workers' compensation case have significant responsibilities under the Medicare Secondary Payer laws to protect Medicare's interests when resolving workers' compensation cases that include future medical expenses. These insurance experts will present an overview of the Medicare system and help audience members understand the compliance process as it relates to workers’ compensation. The CEU-accredited session will be presented on Monday, August 20, from 3:15 to 4:15 pm.
