The new system will help the agency monitor and assess the conditions of each asset and schedule and track inspections for proper maintenance.
The agency will be replacing in-house applications that were inadequate to meet its needs to provide wastewater services to a population of over one million across 28 municipalities. The new, Web-based system will provide an enterprise database that will enable multiple departments to view and manage assets through a user-friendly interface. By automating and streamlining workflows, the EnerGov Asset Management system will enable the city to manage work orders, inventory controls, inspection lifecycles, maintenance tasks associated with the region's critical infrastructure.
The system will be tightly integrated with the agency's Esri GIS to properly manage assets including water mains, pipes, basins, grates and valves all referenced within the GIS system. "This was an exciting win for EnerGov" said Chuck Newberry, Vice President and Industry Manager for EnerGov. “EnerGov is committed to the partnership with MMSD and providing best in class technology to the region.”
The city will also be implementing EnerGov’s iG Workforce to allow workers to complete inspections and surveillance tasks more efficiently in the field using the iPad. With the mobile application’
