IOS Health Systems, Medios EHR Connected to the Atlantic Coast Health Information Exchange.

June 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Miami, FL - IOS Health Systems (IOS), a leading innovator of web-based ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software, announces its web-based Medios EHR system is one of the first EHR’s to successfully connect to the Atlantic Coast Health Information Exchange (HIE).  In October, 2011, Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) selected IOS to be a Partner EHR Solution provider for their physician EHR Donation Program assisting physicians adopt electronic health records. As an Atlantic Coast HIE Participating Vendor, IOS is providing a seamless connection to the HIE allowing Memorial physicians to receive select information from the hospital medical records directly into the Medios EHR system. Physicians now have the ability to securely share records with other healthcare entities which increase continuity of patient care. The benefit of having a fully integrated electronic health record from the point of service, through the medical claims process, to include labs and diagnostic testing performed at Memorial network hospitals helps promote access to medical information at the point of patient care.

The connection between Medios EHR and the Atlantic Coast HIE provides many efficiencies and cost savings such as decreased orders of duplicate tests, easier delivery of results and reduced costs through decreased faxing, scanning, and delivery of paper medical records.  Additionally, it provides a broader view of a patient’s health record including information from the hospital to facilitate decision making and understand trends for patients. Memorial Healthcare System has designed the Atlantic Coast HIE to be expandable to other hospitals and healthcare systems in South Florida.
