“I am very excited to be a part of such a sports establishment like Oaks Christian,” said Coach Chris Forrest. “I definitely want to make the OCS volleyball program an even bigger contender on the league, section and state sports level. I also want to bring more students into the program.”
Athletic Director Jan Hethcock anticipates that Forrest will bring much excitement, energy and expertise to OCS Boys Volleyball. “We are looking forward to having Chris on staff,” said Hethcock. “His resume makes him a stand-out coach, his Christian faith makes him a strong leader, and his heart for working with students makes him a huge asset to the students of Oaks Christian School.”
Forrest’s resume is impressive. He was named California State Rookie Coach of the Year in 2008 by the California Coaches Association, he was named the Palisadian Post Coach of the Year for 2008, he has been the Pacific Palisades Volleyball Club Coach, and he is the current Boys Volleyball Director for the Westlake Volleyball Club and Court Coach for the USA Volleyball High Performance Boys team.
Forrest looks forward to early fall try outs followed by fall training and spring practices. His aim is to take each individual player to the height of his potential and to give each the training to contribute to a championship winning team. In doing this, he also hopes to give each player a life-long love for the sport of volleyball.
