Camden and Islington would not be what it is today without the important work carried out by numerous charities throughout the boroughs and therefore The Access 2 Sports Project has been chosen as one of the two official charities which will be supported by proceeds from the CIBAs.
A2S are an inner-city London charity based in Islington but whose work spans across north-east London. Emerging from the Finsbury Park Regeneration area 10 years ago, the charity has a remarkable track record in delivering sports projects, which has created a lasting social legacy in the communities with whom they work.
“We would like to say thank you to the Chamber for making A2S the official charity if the CIBA’s. We are extremely proud of our staff and the achievements our young people have made and I know it means a lot to them to be recognised by the wider community for their efforts. For the past 10 years we have been using sports as a tool for community development and have worked with thousands of young people, their successes and testimonies are at the heart of what we do and shapes our own growth and development. Being selected as an official charity is fantastic, it has created a real buzz here and we will harness this momentum to reach even more communities and young people” said Nary Wijerante
