Financial Times Masters in Finance rankings released

Once again, London business school has attained the top ranking position for the prestigious Financial Times masters in Finance programme – post experience, an achievement it also attained last year.

June 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Once again, London business school has attained the top ranking position for the prestigious Financial Times masters in Finance programme – post experience, an achievement it also attained last year.

This news comes after reports on students post study activities revealed that 84% of London Business School Masters in Finance (MIF) graduates from the previous year were able to secure jobs across the globe just months after course completion. Following their recent five-year review of the masters in finance programme, the school has taken progressive steps to further improve the quality of education provided and respond to developments in the finance sector. Subsequently, the new autumn starters will have access to additional features, such as an exciting combination of insights from academics to external practical fields with the aim of producing highly competent professional capable of taking on current challenges in the corporate finance industry.

The option of a fourth term which was recently introduced to provide better opportunities for mid-term and summer internships, a great way of recruiting talents will also facilitate international student exchange following recent growth and development in Asian markets.  This opportunity will be opened to a specially selected group of educational institutions.

2012-13 academic year will be centred around practical assignments in the Finance industry as students will be required to visit companies, matching lectures with real life situations. These exercises are put in place to provide students with complete knowledge of finance and the opportunity to blend theories taught in lecture rooms with the real deal. The goal is to provide academic and practical insight in an experimental setting that educates fully on the challenges or opportunities available in the finance industry.

A series of ‘London Finance Talks’ sessions presented by prominent names in academia and business finance will be held at various settings across London, according to a statement made by the school. These events which will focus on developments in the corporate finance industry and how they could alter finance practices in the future, is crucial for their career development .

According to Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean of London Business School, said: “We can look forward to strengthening the programme still further through the recent programme review. This will include greater flexibility for students and increased global focus, whilst being more integrated into London and its global financial centre.”

The rankings compiled by the financial times are based on questionnaires filled in by graduates who have gained employment in the last three years after graduation, as well as by the educational institutions.
