The ‘Fitness for Heroes’ boot camps will be held every Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. at TELOS Fitness Center located at 13701 Dallas Parkway in Dallas beginning June 30. They are free to all military veterans with proper Veterans Affairs identification. Additionally, the boot camps are open to the public for anyone who wants to show support for these soldiers for only a $10 fee. All proceeds will go to FITCO Cares Foundation.
“A surge of military veterans are returning home to face a perfect storm of challenges, ranging from financial, physical and mental, and it’s not always easy for them to ask for help,” said Jason Kos, co-founder and CEO of FITCO. “We are grateful to TELOS Fitness Center for hosting these boot camps. We hope they will not only provide veterans with an outlet to relieve stress and improve health, but will also provide motivation and a sense of community.”
The ‘Fitness for Heroes’ boot camp program is in conjunction with Joining Forces, a White House initiative to serve and support military families, in which TELOS participates by providing free memberships to families of active military.
Providing inspiration to the partnership is Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL Team 3 Chief and author of “American Sniper,” a Publisher’s Weekly and New York Times best-seller.
Together with Kos, they launched the FITCO Cares Foundation’s Heroes Project, a unique program established to provide free in-home fitness equipment, facilitation of donated health club memberships, individualized workout programs, personal training and life-coaching to in-need veterans with disabilities, Gold Star families or those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
The kick-off event will include the initial boot camp followed by a pool party celebration with food, drinks, goodie bags and drawings.
