PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 19, 2012 - Two classic children’s stories, ‘King Arthur & The Sword in the Stone’ and ‘Peter Rabbit from The Tales of Beatrix Potter’, are brought to life in the gardens of the Priory and the hugely talented Carl Taylor will bring Pavarotti to the Priory in a musical extravaganza.

“Last year’s theatre events were a resounding success and we are delighted to be hosting such fantastic shows once again,” said Lindsay Jones Events manager at Hodsock Priory. “The gardens of the Priory came to life with families enjoying picnics whilst being entertained by talented professionals – they were memorable occasions.”

The programme starts on Sunday 8th July with ‘The Sword in the Stone’ and ‘Peter Rabbit from The Tales of Beatrix Potter’ takes place on Sunday 2nd September. On Sunday 9th September a spectacle of music and voice is taking place with Carl ‘Pavarotti’ Taylor being joined by international soprano Deborah Norman, Junction 33 Dance Band, Mount St Mary’s Jazz Band and BeVox.

“The events, which are suitable for all the family, offer a diverse appeal, attracting audiences of young and old alike,” said Lindsay. “In this special year for Britain why not enjoy a summer occasion which will give you lasting happy memories.”

Gates open at 1pm for theatre events with the performances commencing at 3pm. And, for any budding actors or actresses, there is a theatre workshop at 1.30pm for The Sword in the Stone. Pavarotti at the Priory starts at 3pm with gates opening at 12.30pm. Full bar and refreshments will be available throughout the concert.

Hodsock Priory can also cater for those wanting to enjoy a short break through its five star rated Courtyard accommodation.  The Courtyard is a sympathetic restoration of the old dairy on the 800 acre Hodsock estate, it boasts 10 magnificently designed self-catering suites ideal for those wanting a little bit of luxury in a rural setting. The estate is surrounded by heritage and family attractions and connects to miles of cycle and bridle paths. It’s a great base for exploring Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire.
